Most people avoid the dentist because they are afraid of pain. Others just feel uncomfortable having their teeth worked on.
But you can relax at Moonlight Beach Dental, knowing that you’re probably not going to feel much of anything.
You will benefit from multiple things here that eliminate pain and anxiety from dental work, including conscious sedation, comfortable chairs, pain medication, and having an understanding dentist that cares about how you feel.

We Offer:
Sit back and relax during your visit. For your comfort and peace of mind, we offer conscious and deep to moderate (IV) sedation. For phobics, or for longer more complicated procedures, both offer you the ability to sleep comfortably while being worked on. We also offer nitrous oxide(laughing gas) for patients that want to return to work immediately after treatment.
Sometimes referred to as “comfortable” or “relaxation” dentistry, these terms describe the feelings most patients experience during their oral sedation appointments.
The purpose of oral sedation is to allow a dentist to work more effectively by helping a patient become as comfortable as possible with the use of sedative medications administered orally and sublingually.
IV sedation is also referred to as twilight sleep because it is a deeper form of sedation that is administered through an IV directly to your bloodstream. It takes effect relatively quickly, with effects kicking in usually around 15 to 30 minutes after administration.
The dosage of IV sedation can vary, so you may feel very sleepy but remain conscious and awake or you can be given a higher dosage which puts you into a deeper sleep. IV sedation is not the same as general anesthesia, which involves putting you into an unconscious state, where you are unaware of your surroundings and need assistance to breathe through a breathing tube.
Under a general anesthetic, you cannot be woken up in the middle of the procedure and will be unresponsive. With IV sedation, even when you are in a deep sleep, you retain your ability to breathe automatically and you can be woken up.
